Thanks. I had to jostle some of the surrounding plants to achieve that and thought I’d scare off the butterfly for sure but lucked out.

Now these we do have round here. I’ve had a hard time trying to take a photo of one! They do move about a lot.

Every once in a while one will settle down as this did but it takes a lot of chasing before that occurs if at all.

I’ve tried to photograph Cabbage Whites. You have my sympathy, and my admiration. This one’s lovely. It looks nice and fresh, too. Most of the ones I see are pretty tattered and torn.

Sometimes one gets lucky. I was photographing something else after chasing one of these, maybe the same one, in another part of the yard and finally gave up. Serendipity happened and this one landed right in front of me.

You are right about their activity. We have a lot of them in the yard, but they never seem to sit still. Unlike you, I have not had one accommodate me for a photo.

I’ve been fortunate a few times but frustrated more often.

But those special moments when all comes together more than compensate for all the frustration!
