07.19.21 Macro Monday…another little piece of Nature

Cabbage White- Pieris rapae on a garden geranium.  These are quite active and just when you think you are homed in on one it flies.  Fortunately this one was hungry.

  2. Now these we do have round here. I’ve had a hard time trying to take a photo of one! They do move about a lot.

I’ve tried to photograph Cabbage Whites. You have my sympathy, and my admiration. This one’s lovely. It looks nice and fresh, too. Most of the ones I see are pretty tattered and torn.

    • Sometimes one gets lucky. I was photographing something else after chasing one of these, maybe the same one, in another part of the yard and finally gave up. Serendipity happened and this one landed right in front of me.

  4. You are right about their activity. We have a lot of them in the yard, but they never seem to sit still. Unlike you, I have not had one accommodate me for a photo.
