Another from a good day at Dean Brook.
This is a companion to this image that I posted last year which was located in the lower right here. Not quite as organized but plenty to immerse in.

The arc of the concentrated spray at the left looks like someone’s opened a fire hydrant or hose. I can’t quite figure out the white ‘fringe’ beneath the darker area in the center. My best guess now is that the darker and lighter areas aren’t in the same plane, but that the white water’s splashing up. It doesn’t make any difference as far as the image’s appeal is concerned, but it is interesting to try and figure out the dynamics.

I think the water is hitting the edge of a wide rock in there. When dry one can see quite an assemblage of rocky shapes and that’s what gives the cascade such an interesting combination of textures. The arc reminds me of pictures I’ve seen of open hydrants in the city helping kids cool down in the summer.

Thanks, Reed! Water moving in several direction creates quite a dynamic.

Yes, that was noted by a few commenters back then.

I really dig this one, Steve. The flow of the hook into the fan makes for a great shape, and results in a very evocative contrast between turbulence and resolution.

Thanks, Jackson. I always look for combinations of flow, splash, and the meeting of those effects. It takes a bit of experimentation and that makes me glad pixels are free.
