Here is that foliage image that was in the pipeline. The color is really building nicely in the North Quabbin area and I hope to be capturing it at every opportunity every day for the coming week. The full moon is next Saturday and I’m thinking two-fer. 🙂
The West Branch of Fever Brook
Right up Edward Weston’s alley here…literally at the edge of the road and no hiking necessary.
I can see hints of color showing. We have a few trees doing that here in IA. Two weeks will show a lot of changes. We are going to the Mississippi Monday for some hikes and an over night. I hope the sky is blue and sunny.

While I love the wide swaths of color we get at this time of year, I often prefer the mixes like this and, of course, there is the complement created between green and red.

Dramatic. Hope there is sunshine during your holiday. Although I suppose rain is good for the reservoir.

We got very little rain, Ann. Just one day of actual showers and a few that were just drizzles. So no real help yet. We did have a lot of sun, although several days started with fog.

Love these fall colors that are beginning to show. Lovely scene with the water in between the forrest.

We are now approaching peak, Yvonne. There have been some really dramatic scenes with light hitting the foliage while fog is in the background. Nice time of the year for sure. Thanks.

Did you have rain along with the clouds? We had just a little bit of much-appreciated moisture over night. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday were clear and I was out with the camera … much in the queue now, for which I am grateful.

Not much rain, David.

It’s as nice to see the color change in the grasses and water plants as in the trees. With the ‘point’ of the sky and the ‘point’ of the water nearly meeting in the middle of the photo, the entire image looks a bit butterfly-like, as though autumn is getting ready to take wing.

And take wing it has, Linda. I like your vision of a butterfly. Funny how we all see things so differently.

Steve, I hope you have some great opportunities as the colors continue changing. I’m curious to see how ours fares this year. The color is often not as vibrant as up that way, but it’s always nice to see it change. I look forward to seeing your images throughout the season!

The weather more than cooperated, Todd. No complaints.I am pretty happy with the opportunities and hopefully did them justice. I hope you are provided with lots of good color.

When it is autumn and we have so much color, I don’t really care what the light is like…not that I am not always looking for the good stuff.

Overcast skies can make for saturated colors.
