Okay, a new FF. 🙂
As much as I like frost, the subdued yet interesting background, leaves and mud, I find most pleasing here. Also the resemblance to outer space.
Although captured on a different day in 2012, this is on the same beaver pond in Cadwell Memorial Forest as the Frozen Friday shot posted on the 6th. Not quite as cold so my jeans were not captured, just this hoar-frosted pine twig.
The mud is a lovely colour – very chocolatey! I think we have a ‘Frozen Friday’ here too brr!

It does remind of melted chocolate.

I also get the “floating in our space” feel.

Our or outer? Either one works.

“Our space” reminds me that Myspace once rivaled Facebook. Now Myspace might as well be in outer space.

My first thought was that someone dropped their magic wand, but I see the outer space feel too.

Magic wands have to come from somewhere so why not outer space?

I’m with Rob on this one. The first thing I saw was a fairy’s wand: possibly of the sort carried by a kindergartener dressed in pink tulle. Those elongated crystals are really cool, in every sense of the word.

Would you have been that kindergartener? I really don’t mind the freezing temperatures when nature offers such beautiful constructions.

Nope, not me. I much preferred my cowgirl outfit.

This almost looks like a sort of dragonfly.

That’s a good one, Lynette! I see it too thanks to your power of suggestion.

I instantly saw outer space too, Steve, a shooting star!

Another nice interpretation. Thanks, Donna!

Nice Steve! The dark background really makes the frost “Pop out”!

Thanks, Reed! I enhanced the darkness a bit to help with that effect.

The pine twig appears to float in outer space.

I thought of (yet another) food fantasy but once you mentioned outer space that’s all I can see now.
Resistance is futile.

Was it chocolate pudding?

Close, Hot chocolate with a sprig of some fancy culinary herb floating in it.

The leaves and mud make for some very nice tones, giving it a bit of warmth despite the ice.

Thanks, Todd! I didn’t feel the warmth at the time. 🙂

This does look celestial and very unique! It might do well printed and in some juried show.

There is a spring show coming up soon that I enter every year but their theme and this may not get along. I am talking with a gallery owner about doing a show there and might go for ice abstracts. Thanks, Denise!

I agree, the fact that the background is barely discernable and that outer space feeling make this very appealing. And the twig seems to dance. 🙂
