I just saw a post from a friend in Michigan whose Mother Goose has newly-hatched babies now. ‘Tis the season for them, even if they don’t know about the special day.

Apparently they don’t as Pa Goose wandered away and left Ma to handle the babies.
Unfortunately, these geese are not bothered by humans and prior to this shot, were foraging along the rail trail while people walked and bicycled by at a near distance. One rider stopped a little too close with her phone and Dad admonished her for that. They all eventually waddled down to the water and swam across to this spot.

That’s a novel take on the theme.

It was fun watching the goslings rolling over each other while mom just sat in the sun.

I don’t get to see mothers and babies in the wild very often so it was a treat. Thanks, Reed.
