09.18.2018 Acadia Finale

Wish we were still there. One week doesn’t come close to exploring this great park. Next time I’ll spend more time in the woods.

  1. Beautiful – indeed. Wish I were there now – we’ve got rain – after a fairly warm day yesterday. I’m looking forward to winter (don’t tell anyone!).

    • Thanks. Right now I am looking forward to autumn. Winter will come soon enough. I am just thankful that the heat is mostly over for the year. A few warm days left but more temperate temperatures ahead. Florence is raining down on us as I write and the rain is welcome although it has a sad history for the folks in the southeast.

  2. Brilliant sunrise or is it a sunset? I can not tell the difference. I am supposing it is a sunrise since you always photograph sunrises. Either way this is beautiful with those wispy rose colored clouds, hovering over the water complete the picture.

Simplicity itself, and lovely. It just struck me today that I can’t remember seeing birds in any of your sunrise photos. Do you purposely try to avoid them? Are they just not there? I’m accustomed to seeing herons, egrets, seagulls, and an whole assortment of other birds flying at sunrise. Perhaps I’m just in an area where more of them roost at night.

    • There may be some sea ducks or the like but they would be tiny dots and I don’t recall. If one is flying through the scene I usually wait for it to clear since it would just be a blur. This is about the only bird I can recall photographing while at Acadia. I really don’t recall seeing very many large birds while there. There was a cormorant but apparently I never did share it here.

  6. That is a nice way to end your series. Good to hear you spent a whole week there. We had only one whole day and parts of two others.
