After yesterday’s post from Dean Brook and reference to Murphy Falls, I thought I’d share this old image from 2015. Similar has appeared in portrait format back then but this is the first appearance in landscape. And of course countless other views, both large and small.
I’ll stop by tomorrow or Sunday and see if ther eis something different from the several dozen other images I’ve made here over the years.

That cluster of colorful leaves in the foreground really catches the eye.

I made several compositions with and without the foreground. One placed emphasis on that clinging oak leaf on the rock about in the middle of this one. Plus many others.

Beautiful flash-back, Steve! Sometimes we need to go back to our old archives and pick out the pearls among the thousands of images. This one is definitely of those pearls.

I actually have a bunch of cards for sale at Chap de Laines where I work. Framed prints on the wall as well. Probably not the best venue but I have made a few sales. I’ve got a couple of boxed sets still in a drawer here. I haven’t printed any up in several years.

Thanks, Denise! The leaves were a gift from the waterfall gods. Because I shoot in the early morning and fairly dense woods I sometimes have to increase the ISO because the exposures can be too long. Although I have a nice set of Lee NDs I rarely need them.

I swear I remember that clinging leaf from a previous posting. If not, I know that you’re the master of combining the irresistable force of water and the apparently unmoving objects that resist it, so I surely saw something similar. It’s interesting, the way the leaves on the ground seem to be floating.

I am sure you do and I purposely chose a different frame when I processed this so as not to post the same image. Here’s the original from 2015 where you also mention the leaf. So you are totally eliminating the possibility of my mastery of nature’s forces? 🙂

Beautiful! I’m not surprised that it’s a place you return to – it’s perfect for photography (and just to visit, I’m sure).

It has plenty of appeal for sure. I have mentioned in the past that it was a place of solace after losing Murphy, our third beagle, so has an emotional component as well. He never went here with me but I guess he did in spirit. Thanks, Ann.

The flow and conditions are so variable here that it is possible almost every visit to find something a bit different than before. All through the yard there are opportunities.
