Beautiful, but I do think that may be poison sumac. Hard for me to look at it objectively at this point! Seriously though, regardless, you created a really complaining image.

Poison sumac leaves have smooth edges, James. These are toothed. I tried quite a few compositions with this one stem and liked this orientation the best.

A good looking sumac. Does this one “flame” in the fall? Wasn’t there a singer named Yuma Sumac who has a five octave range or something or maybe it was four?

Yes, this does get quite red as the foliage changes. I had never heard of here, but you are right. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yma_Sumac
