I rarely visit Google+. Andrew got me interested a while back and I frequented the social site for a while but, for some unknown reason, it just doesn’t appeal to me in the same way as Facebook. And there is only so much time in the day. But while spending time there this past summer, I had the good fortune to make the acquaintance of Ebenezer Baldwin Bowles and Crow’s Cottage Some of you may have already seen/read the collaborations of Ebenezer and Andrew and Eb and I did one before.
A short while back I posted some images of lotuses and Ebenezer took a liking to one in particular. I provided him with that image and some mumblings of my own which he has spiffed up quite nicely and turned into a very nice post regarding the history of the Sacred Lotus. Thanks, Rod. There is a lot of history with the lotus. The first I knew about was some Tantric art with the lotus as a centerpiece. But left to my own devices none of the wonderful history in the piece would have been added without Ebenezer’s diligence.

I am most impressed with this article but also depressed on this very cold, bleak, overcast, windy, drab and dull day. Do you get the idea that I am very upset about the “northerly blast” that I am quite sure Rod sent here from Winnipeg?
A excellent read that is wonderfully written with an unusual photo of the lotus. The subtle coloring is outstanding. Love this one too.
Now I am off to Cabella’s for new thermal johns and cover-alls since i think i got mine mixed up with my husbands’s outdoor sporting wear that went to Goodwill.I go outdoors several times a day and well one has to dress to stay warm and not get chilled…..

It’s grand to work together on fun things. I grow more and more weary of politics and social discord — necessary evils I suppose but wearisome all the same. Flora and fauna when engaged by the naturalist with a camera or a notebook become the most wonderful of pursuits. Thanks, Stephen, for your wonderful pursuits — and for the shout-out regarding Crow’s Cottage. I appreciate it very very much.

Beautiful shot, Mr. Steve. Although I like the wide open space of landscape photography, where the majesty of God’s creation cannot help but be noticed, so, too can you appreciate the workings of the Universe in macro photography. Being able to see such fine detail of the Sacred Lotus is a special gift. Very nice collaboration!

I love the photo, and the idea. I confess i am only able to skim through – as much as I love botanical history, it’s just too much right now, alas. Life has gotten very busy lately. But I did want to leave word here that I applaud the effort!
