09.11.2013 Watch your step, Bub!

One morning while at Acadia this past June I decided to visit Hunters Beach….as opposed to Little Hunters Beach…to photograph beach rocks.  That didn’t work out.  But on the way in, I noticed that the trail actually had a guardian.  He seemed affable enough once I realized he was there after almost stepping on some tender extremity.  Very patient as a model, we agreed that this was a good portrait.  Not exactly the Queen’s Guard, he still keeps a watchful eye on everything that transpires.Hunters-Beach-path-Tree-with-face-800FB🙂

High-Ledges-Guardian-052012-800FB9.12.2013….I added this to show Lottie another forest spirit. 🙂

  1. That is an unusual discovery. “He” looks like a “man-frog” in my perspective. I like your portrait of the forest sentry. Very nice find, Steve.

The Green Man, spirit of the forest. There is much folklore surrounding him. What a wonderful picture.

You have a good eye for forest goblins, Steve. I think you should mount an exhibition: Gingold’s Goblins. It would be a sell out for sure.

You could almost mostake him for a tree root. We had a Green Man pub at the top of our road. Maybe he emigrated too, 🙂
