Here’s a large view of the image that was printed for the customer in Dallas. Gary asked to see it larger and as it turns out I never shared it on the blog before. It’s from 2010 just after I started blogging.
I call this location Otter Ledges. I am not sure if it has an actual name but is between Thunder Hole and Otter Cliffs.
Wild and tumultuous clouds and bottle-green sea – so beautiful!

Thanks, Eliza. It was exhilarating to be there and I can still recall the sensation of being on the rocks and receiving spray from the waves.

Fantastic! This one has such power, very dynamic and dramatic. I’m so glad a customer chose this one for a large print. Very nice, indeed.

Thanks, Todd! The customer has been to Acadia and said that this image helped him and his wife experience what it was like to be there. That’s quite a compliment that I appreciated.

It’s different from your usual in that some of the water was moving upward.

Yes but some of it is receding and all water goes up at some point.

The dark clouds make it look like you might’ve been concerned about water coming down soon.

We were but the only water we received was spray.

Thanks very much for the reverse-reprise, Steve. It reminds me very much of some of the magnificent shoreline of Lake Superior north of Duluth, especially around Grand Marais.

Much of Maine’s coast is similar to what you see here, Gary. Rugged and often wild.

Thanks, Denise! Wish I lived closer to the ocean but then I’d miss our forests.

A fabulous scene, beautifully photographed – no wonder someone wants to be able to look at it all the time!

Thanks, Lynn. I have never printed this myself, my friend Mark did it for me. I should but have no wall space.
