The band of light makes the foreground trio of trees seem even darker.

Yes and I wanted to keep them that way so did not raise the shadows.

That it was, Eliza. This is just a bit north of Cook Farm. If there is fog anywhere I can usually count on some here.

What an incredible photo! So fortunate you are for the sights you see. Could there be any more beautiful gift? Thanks for passing it along to the rest of us. π

I am very appreciative of the sights I see…and the sites as well. And am very happy to share the experiences. Thanks.

I never tire of these soft, serene scenes. And I hope you don’t, either, because I always look forward to your next one. π

Thanks, Todd. Not to worry…I won’t tire of them. Lately we’ve either had dry cloudless mornings or overcast. But the ground fogs at dawn will return. π

Thanks. There is a lot to be said for early rising, Tom. I think I take it a bit too far but morning is the best part of the day in my estimation.

The colors and softness the fog provides are wonderful, and so is the sense of space.

Thank you, Linda. We don’t have too many locations that can be described that way nearby and I am lucky to have it just a few minutes from the house.

The colours of the sky are so delicate – they make it feel like a wonderful (and peaceful) time of day.

You’ve hit upon why I get out so early, Ann. That describes the feeling of the moment. Thank you.

I saw ground fog on Sunday for the first time in months. It wasn’t as thick as this, and evaporated quickly, but it brought to mind so many of your photos that capture its essence. This one’s particularly lovely.

Thanks, Linda. We often have it in spotty locations but this particular morning it was widespread. At this moment, 2:57 a.m., there is quite a bit of fog in our neighborhood. I am glad you got to see some.

This seems to be the epitome of quiet. A hush made visual.

At that time of day it is pretty quiet although the road behind me is well traveled later in the day.
