Still a few long weeks to go. This is a June shot which is about as early as we see them return from their mud haven. But it’s been a warm winter so maybe an early arrival this year.

I didn’t realize their reemergence came so late in the year. I think I might have said April, or certainly May. I’m hearing some first, tentative croaky sounds already. Maybe this will be the year for my own frog sighting.

I may be mistaken about May but I have never seen a bullfrog in April, at least that I can recall or photographed. We do have early emergence of Spring Peepers on warm wet spring nights though.
I do hope that this will be your year to see and photograph frogs. They are usually one of the signs of a healthy ecosystem so it should just be a matter of time since most of the places you visit can be described that way.

Guess what? Ask and ye shall receive! Whether I get ‘frogs’ I can’t say, but I was gifted a frog last weekend. Yes, there will be a photo or two.

This seems to be an eye-selfie but I can’t quite tell. Looks like trees in there for sure.

This was in a wooded area where a friend and I were photographing a waterfall. I imagine that I am in the eye but disguised by all the trees behind me.

Apparently, you have a personality that puts amphibians at ease. My frog models tend to be a bit jumpy. I’ve even had some croak.

I must have a strong frog vibe, I guess. They must be able to sense that I have never and likely never will dine on those strong green legs.

Most of my frog shots are done with my 100-400 and a 2X extender so I don’t have to get close. But even then some to skedaddle. That said, this was done with my 180 macro. A very cooperative fellow.
