If milestones matter then I missed mine with yesterday’s posts. I knew 2500 was coming but then forgot. So this is post number 2502. I guess that’s as much a milestone as 2500. My first was on May 23, 2010 and you might be shocked, I say, shocked at the subject. 🙂

Oh, those stalactite-cicles kept stubby by water flowing close beneath them.

The water when it is rushing a little higher contributes to the icicles and in some cases creates those nice spinning tops shapes.

I saw an example of that process close above a creek here when we had our ice/snow storm in 2021.

Beautiful crystals and an interesting juxtaposition with the streaming water, hard to believe it’s all the same substance.

Thanks, Alessandra. Glad you can get past the shivers to enjoy this. Most of the time I am oblivious to the cold until it start numbing my hands. It’s worth it though. 🙂

Thanks, Eliza. I am glad also. We don’t have a chance to meet our blogging buddies so in addition to enjoying our visits it is also nice to actually get to meet someone in person.

I’ve never thought of a camera as a ‘water softener,’ but here we are. I must say — if you’d posted 250 photos instead of 2502, it hardly would matter, since every one is a gem. Of course, 2502 is better; there’s more room for orchids and frogs!

H2Ohhh, wow!
Water, water, everywhere.
Some is flowing, some is frozen.
Seeing both together is quite rare.
You know what a picture is worth, I’m supposin’.
Your hop into the blogosphere has been a blessing for all who love nature. Thank you for presenting us with so many glimpses of her diversity.

That ice is so pleasingly crinkly – it makes me want to touch it. Congratulations on passing 2500!

Thanks, Brian! Apparently I make a lot of photographs. I enjoy capturing moving water with a solid object and even better if the solid object is also water.
