01.23.2023 Mount Norwottuck

I’ve shot Mount Norwottuck a gazillion times but this is from a new location.

Yesterday’s shot was from Mount Pollux where most of my images of the mountain have been made.  This is “down the road apiece” on a small road with some nice homes and obviously a nice view of Norwottuck. I don’t usually shoot in neighborhoods but this is a worthy exception. The frosting is the icing on the mountain.

The dark clouds and the darkness of the trees certainly help to highlight the snow-covered mountain. It’s a beautiful image.

The more intense white at the center gives the effect of a spotlight focusing on the peak. A change in perspective enhanced an already wonderful view.

Truly, it was a beautiful day in this neighborhood.

    • The day started out as so many others have this winter…dreary. But as I came home from errands the light was hitting the mountaintops just right and I couldn’t wait to get out with the camera. Thanks, Wally!

The frosting gives a great textural look. It’s almost as if I could reach out and feel the foliage of the trees…love it!
