There is a bit of light snowfall going on which you can sort of see in the darker foreground.

In the enlargement I do see the snow. I couldn’t really make it out in the smaller version.

I tried a few ways to increase its visibility but could not do good enough selections for just the trails.

Thanks, Ted. It was a bit of a hike to get there but worth it. The uphill hike back out, not so much.

Nice image, Steve. It captures that snowy day feeling… right down to the silence. 🙂

More silent in the winter without motor boats trolling about. 🙂 Thanks, Eliza!

The snow dusting the lone rock in the water is an especially nice touch. It’s a beautiful setting; black and white does suit snowy landscapes.

Deciding whether to go black and white is sometimes a challenge but the lack of color in a winter landscape makes it a little easier. That rock balanced everything out. The scene might have been a little sterile without it.

Absolutely gorgeous. This is such a beautiful photograph. That light dusting of snow does so much to affect the feel of the photo and the composition is very well balanced, from the reflections to the rock in the water and the smaller clump of trees on the right. So nice!

Thanks, Todd! It was a beautiful and enjoyable few moments while I made the image and several others similar on this day. Sometimes I get lucky and am in the right place at the right time.

Thank you, Ann. There was just a bit of green in the trees but the low light muted that so B&W it was.

This Quabbin place has been very good to you! Nice image! When is the book coming out? 😊

It has and I try to be good to it. 🙂 Thanks!
Maybe posthumously? LOL I tend to stay in the west, south (where the park is), and north parts of the watershed but if I want to do a book, which I do, I need to start visiting the east portion as well.
