Stunning! I’m gonna share that via twitter.

Thanks, Liz. Thanks for sharing although I have never participated on Twitter and am now even less likely to do so.

I enjoy twitter a lot so I’ll stick with it for now, and see what happens!

Beautiful gold tones against the soft greys – really suggests the atmosphere of a gentle autumn day.

Thanks, Ann. It was a lovely morning I was quite happy to come upon this small scene.

Thanks, Eliza! I am no longer 100% sure of the tree. Someone on Facebook suggested American Chestnut which seems possible. I will try to find the scene again but without the leaves now may be difficult as it was tucked away amongst a lot of other trees.

Smooth gray bark and elongated buds on beech are distinct. And beech leaves dry on the branch, so if it still has leaves, it’s probably a beech.

It would be difficult to get down where this was. Of course I could zoom in and capture the bark. But when I went by the other day the leaves must have fallen and I could not find this scene. Guess that eliminates beech. 🙂

Thanks, Tina! The layers of color and fog along with the trees barely visible really got me excited for making the image.

Autumn, golden leaves, and fog are perfectly coming together in this photo, Steve.

Thanks, Peter. I was lucky to see this as I drove through the park.

Beech leaves really can be so beautiful this time of year. And that fog helps keep attention on the colorful foliage.

The warmth the leaves added to this otherwise low key image was really a pleasing find. Thanks, Todd!

We finally have some fog this morning, but we certainly don’t have anything like this gold to complement it. It’s a lovely image.

Nice with the fog…

Thanks, Alessandra. Not quite everything but almost everything is better with some fog. 🙂

Very nice Steve! Beautiful leaves image! Fog really makes the leaves “pop”!

I think I commented on this one on FB. I just love the strong gold and pale blue together!

You did and thank you again. Yellow/gold and blue are a good combo.

This is a favorite! But I think you know that. A cascade of gold in a fog-filled forest is a treasure. I don’t think many (or any?) other photographers could have done as well as you did with it!

And it’s every bit as beautiful the second time around. 🙂
