Yesterday was another grand day of morning fog. After shooting the red oak a few minutes earlier I walked around the top of the hill and on the way back to the car noticed that there was still some fog hugging the ground within the trees.
I liked the overall feel but also the arching branch and the opening in the distance.
It beckons!

I was lucky it called me when it did, Eliza. Had I walked back as I came I would have missed it.

Glad (for me) you are taking advantage of fall. 😁😁

Glad for me too, Ted. A few years ago I was ill and missed it entirely. Still making up for that.

Perhaps because of the fog, this brown seems soft and rich, rather than the dry, dying brown of so many landscapes. It’s an inviting image.

I am sure you are correct about the fog softening the color. It often richens hues so likely did that here as well. Thanks, Linda!

Both fog and color. A double win.

Thanks, Dave. The combination has been frequent lately but isn’t to be so much longer.

Very nice image Steve! It is fun to photograph in the fog! I was shooting in the fog a week ago but have not gotten a chance to post some yet. Funny being retired and still other things to do get in the way! Enjoyed seeing your Fog image!

Thanks, Reed. Although not retired…semi-retired currently…I know what that’s like. My days off are busier than those when I am working.

The arching branch and distant light make this a very inviting scene. 🙂

This was taken just a few moments after the oak tree with the orangey foreground. Such different light only a few feet separated. Fog is wonderful!

More beautiful fog – I reall y like the low angle you chose for this.

I can’t take credit for the low angle as I was standing perfectly upright. It’s a slight rise in front of us that continues beyond and up the hill to the tower.
