You seem to have hit the peak of fall color.

Up north we have and it is almost passed. This view of the valleys and hills is usually a week or two behind the rest so still has some nice color.

We were very concerned earlier in the summer that autumn wouldn’t be as colorful as usual (if there is a usual any more) because of the heat and drought. But September saw an increase in rain and I guess that saved us.

I really like the contrast between the convex hill and the concave ‘bowl’ of the trees. It’s like color serving up color.

Thanks, Linda! This location has its ups and downs, now being relatively down because the trees and shrubs are getting tall limiting the views. The town periodically maintains the lookout but they have not done so recently. Looking northward right now is the only real broad view option without foreground clutter. I like your convex/concave description of the layout here.

Thanks, Jane. Our autumn turned out so much better than we expected. Drought and heat don’t usually make for a colorful fall but Mother Nature came through.
