09.23.2022 Frog Friday-maybe the last?

We are starting to get a few nights in the 30’s although not a frost in the immediate future.  But that might be chilly enough to trigger hibernation. This past Monday I visited one of the more reliable locations for bullfrogs and found just this one female.  Probably a few more surfaced as the day warmed but at some point they’ll retire until spring.

  1. I’ll go out on a pad and predict this won’t be your last for the season.

    • Well, yeah. Of course I never had blonde hair nor was it ever spiky, but that’s me all over. Between years 9 and 12 I lived in a house that had what some might have considered a plague of frogs and toads.

I always enjoy your frogs! I hope there’s another week or two, but I guess they need to snuggle in for the cold to come.

Nice balance in this shot, Steve. The leaf is as interesting as the frog. Fall is upon us!

Hope your frogs find somewhere comfy for the winter – our little common frogs are still on the go here.

What a lovely, lovely photo, Steve. There’s something about the curled leaf around her that I find especially endearing. I’ll miss the frog photos this winter….

I don’t think I managed to photograph very many frogs this year, but this gives me something to look forward to next season.
