Visited East Leverett Meadow (interesting that they require you to lease a dog when visiting ๐ ) this morning shortly after our rain let up with raindrops in mind. The floss tends to stick together when wet but there were enough strands and separated seeds to make for a little fun.
Initially I thought of these for black and white but decided I like the background in color.ย So I processed them in SilverEfex and then changed the Photoshop layer blending mode to luminosity to keep the color.
Very interesting shots, and a clever post processing ๐๐

SEP has some adjustments that are more effective than in Photoshop so using it to advantage works some of the time. Thanks, Ted.

Funny! I’d be happy if I could lease one for a walk now and again, although giving them back might be a struggle.

We’ve adopted three of our four dogs and in each case we had a choice to keep or return. There really was no choice as once they are in your home they are also in your heart. I guess the same would be true for a walk in a meadow.

Terrific photography, including the post processing ideas!
Leasing. That’s pretty doggone interesting.

Thanks, Wally. Those darn typos…you never know what kind of trouble they’ll cause.

Actually, you may have stumbled onto one of those million-dollar ideas! Or you could just be barking up the wrong tree. Arf.

It’s fun when you start out with a plan and realize it. I try not to have a specific goal in mind but occasionally do start out with goal. There were other sources of fun and one is today’s post.

Fortunately I was able to break the spell long enough to make several images. ๐

There is so much beauty in these details. Bejeweled by rain drops. ๐

Thanks, Tanja. I considered stacking several images for deeper detail but decided the foremost ones might get lost and they were my focus. It was lovely to see all the floss hanging on to the raindrops.

Your photos are stunning. I am still thinking about how you are required to lease a dog. Is it just for a walk?

Itโs just my sense of humor. They typoed leash. ๐

I like the way the seed heads stand out in the second photo. They provide a nice balance to the drops.

It was a challenge sorting the chaos. I particularly liked the spread of the silk strands in that one.
