This Mason Wasp-Parancistrocerus sp (possibly) was going from flower to flower on this American Burnweed-Erechtites hieraciifolius trying for some pollen in our yard.
Eventually these flowers do open a bit more but for now the going was difficult.

Good picture of the wasp. Texas dandelions go through a phase in which they look like your American burnweed.

Our dandelions take a similar appearance as well.

I don’t mean to pry, but what kind of a mason doesn’t own a crowbar?

I think the fridge has a slight opening as a teaser.

Sticking its head right in trying to get some. Gotta love the persistence. Nice find.

Thanks, Todd! My yard is full, a bit of an exaggeration, of Burnweed so I get to watch their endeavors often.
