07.09.2022 Clear wings

The way the light is hitting the wings, they look like a collection of tiny windows.  There is a bit of iridescent color and some sky reflection, but we can see right through them.

Such a beautiful capture, Stephen. I just love that the veins of the leaf are clearly visible through the lace of the wings–gorgeous!

Wonderful! It’s amazing to see just how clear the wings are and how very delicate, yet they support the weight of the dragonfly. Great photograph!

Wow, that is perfect lighting for this one. All those little angles on the wings.

    • The wings are indeed beautiful and amazingly clear. The camera does a much better job of capturing that then our bare eyes do. I know entomologist who would catch them and study them up close in their hand but I don’t do that. The camera does a fine job of it.

  9. I love the way the wings came out.

  14. Awesome shot Steve! Because of the glare which adds to it, I wonder if you used a polarizer … just curious.

    • Thanks, Denise. A polarizer lives on all in my lenses but I honestly don’t remember how much if any adjustment I made. When I looked on the screen I loved the shot so didn’t even think about polarizing it.
