Well, I did, sort of. There are still a few hours left to Friday so we got in with a little time to spare.
From the archives, this pretty lady has such nice markings and is fairly young without any of the scars they acquire over time.
We are due for some rain tomorrow and, as you might guess, that’s good for not just ducks but frogs too. If it’s light I’ll try to get a few new ones for future Fridays.
Very fine indeed… enjoy your weekend!

I had a tiring day yesterday and the fatigue didn’t go away with a night’s sleep so went back to bed after taking care of Bentley at 3 a.m. Kind of set the tone for the whole day. Tomorrow’s another opportunity.

The variety in their patterns is so appealing, and this is an especially pretty one. On her face, the pattern looks like leaves.

Ah, the beauty of youth. Nature surely is the best artist.

Good save! It wouldn’t be a proper Friday without a frog, and this one is beautiful. Yesterday my daughter and I went out to a preserve we don’t get to that often and we heard a chorus of toads singing, something I haven’t heard in quite awhile, and a bullfrog!! I was very happy.

Frog song does bring smiles although I’ve heard from a few people that their night songs cause sleep deprivation. Personally I love hearing a frog at night as I lay waiting for sleep to come.

Oh, me too. That was the soundtrack of a happy childhood for me.

Rain is cause for celebration around here, by the tree frogs. It can get pretty loud on the back porch.

On Thursday afternoon I visited a local pond and it seems every step I took scared another 2 or 3 frogs into the water. There were so many, but very few would have anything to do with me, mostly gone before I even knew they were there.

They are often quick to jump but if you expect them to be ahead of you a slow approach might give you a chance to see them, especially if already in the water which where the vast majority of my shots happen.

What a beautiful frog she is! I’ve already seen three in my new pond but they tend to hide…not very cooperative!

I think she is probably the loveliest of the bullfrogs I’ve photographed to date. I don’t think they get much better than this. Cover girl model.

Indeed she is – hope she models for you again!

It’s a rough life out there and she’ll show some signs if it should I happen upon the same frog twice.
