I am a Nature Photographer with interests in all things related. Water, flowers, insects and fungi are my main interests but I am happy to photograph wildlife and landscapes and all other of Nature's subjects.
Yes, but not too close with the 180 macro. Last year I started shooting frogs with my 100-400 doubled so no longer need to get very close at all and possibly scare off my subject.
Beautiful colors on that handsome frog, but it’s not Frog Friday! I know, it’s St. Patty’s Day and really, any day is a good day to celebrate the beauty of a frog in a great photo!
You are not the first to point out that I am posting a frog on a day other than Friday. But I agree….any day is good for a picture of a frog. Thanks, Tina!
The newest one, 3.18.2022, I would love to have. Could I buy a print of it? I love it because it makes me feel like a child again. Well. They all do. But this one, it takes me right back to the pond behind our house where I grew up.
Oh, yes the one on the next day is the one that really grabbed me although of course I love them all.
Happily, I’m feeling so much better today. I’ve been going through chemo and that in turn caused colitis which I though would kill me! Ugh, I’ve been so miserable for WEEKS.
Chemo???? I had no idea you were having treatment, for cancer?, and hope it is mild and you get it under control. And then colitis on top of that. No wonder you need a pick me up.
Yes, and the bullfrog is just what I need!! ๐
It is cancer, and it is an aggressive one, but miraculously I seem to already be heading for remission. Surgery and radiation are ahead, but they will be nothing compared to the awful chemo. And then, the Dr. tells me, it will be gone. Holy moly!
I’m so excited! I’ve ordered it with a pretty green mat and the black frame with beading around it. I’m going to put it in the family room next to the chair where I always sit. :). Ribbit!!
That looks like a wonderful combination and, of course, your artist’s eye knew what would look just right. Maybe I should do the same. ๐ Thanks so much, Melissa. I hope it makes you smile each time you see it. โค
Oh it will and thank you so much, Steve, for your kind thoughts and for your artistry with a camera. You never know, do you, when an image you create will connect with someone in such a meaningful way.
It’s not often that happens and even rarer that we find out about it. Thank you for enjoying my images, Melissa. Now that it’s warming up it’ll be time soon to put up our summer shower curtain. ๐
Oh that’s fun!
My bullfrog came the other day and I absolutely love it. I want him everywhere, but I think ultimately he’ll hang out in the studio with me. He was going to be in the bathroom to distract me from depressing grey walls but I’ve heard from the management that I can paint the walls (!), so currently he’s following me around and cheering me through the day.
It’s almost like having two eyes on the same side of the head, the way a flounder does.

This fantastic green creature won’t be pinched.

Wel, a little pinch to let him know you think he’s cute might be okay.

Here’s hoping the doctor is 100% correct and you’ll have a clean bill of health after that awful chemo, Melissa.

Thank you so much, Steve. The surgeon was a wet blanket when I met with him but what does he know? Total Eeyore but I’ll listen to the oncologist. :).
