01.19.2022 Winter’s Chaos

Eliot Porter’s book, “Nature’s Chaos,” is a favorite influence along with “Intimate Landscapes”.

There is a lot to be seen in water’s frozen element.

  1. The ice arc across the lower part of the photograph reminds me of a strand of seaweed.

Given the sharp, blade-like formations at the very bottom, I can’t help seeing some sort of marvelous creature on ice skates.

Extraordinary! The detail in this is absolutely beautiful and so crisp that it looks as if the edges of the ice are sharp enough to cut. It’s a picture I could look at for a long time… 🙂

Not only is there a lot to be seen, but you are very good at seeing it. 🙂 Thanks for mentioning the books, I’m going to look those up.

  14. Just beautiful, Steve. The trapped leaf it a nice element, but it doesn’t stop my eye from exploring every inch of this photograph.
