12.16.2021 The best ride to work…so far

I don’t think apologies will be necessary with the iPhone images this time. More sunrise shots but the phone captured sharp images and they transferred to the computer in good shape.

When I left the house to go to work I noticed the clouds overhead but had doubts the horizon was clear enough for some light show color.Β  I drove out to Moody Bridge Road just to see and guess I made the right decision. πŸ™‚

Something told me to wait despite making myself late for work.

Bingo!Β  I moved up the road a little bit to capture more foreground with the trees taking a larger part.

What a start.Β  And, of course, the rest of the day paled by comparison. No doubt I’d have been happier with the 5D Mark IV but these turned out well so I’m happy enough for theΒ  sharing.

You should be very happy with those images!! I can’t say I’ve ever seen a morning sky like this! Spectacular!

    • Oh, I am very happy, Lori. And I am happy that I could share it. I’ve seen similar cloud formations but never one that looked like the shape of the clouds. It looks as if the east is pulling the clouds into a small container.

  6. Bingo! I saw the clouds as an upside-down highway in the sky.

    • Right after the last image the color started to dissipate into yellow. And I was able to do some Snapseeding to share on Facebook so didn’t ha]ve to wait to share. These I put through LR and PSCC before posting here.

I enjoyed seeing the progression almost as much as I enjoyed the clouds. It’s rare for us to get cloud streams like that, and they certainly put on a show for you. Beautiful.

    • I was too rapt with what I was doing but it is possible I wasn’t breathing for a short time too, Tanja. πŸ™‚ It was definitely a favorite and breathtaking moment from my days of photographing sunrise. Thanks, Tanja!

Crazy. πŸ™‚ I love the iPhone for skies, especially for not blowing them out and getting a full range of tones.

    Amazing sky.
The picture where you moved closer to the background I like best. That makes it so much more dramatic. And the colours play out better against the silhouette of trees.

  22. Watchers (should!) do NOT care about tool you use to take the picture. Expensive camera, phone, leaky potty or used sock… – it don’t bother me, if I see eye-catching motif.

Even without the colors that was an amazing cloud formation. But I also think the color was worth waiting for, so I’m glad you did.
