We’ve had a fair amount of rain recently which has slowed the color change here. But there are small pockets where one can find a bit.
Actually, the dead tree got my attention and then it was all the other trees and shrubs that got “added”.
Thought I should post this after the other less than attractive post from earlier.
Very nice Steve! Especially liked the dead tree which adds a different feel to the image! Again, very nice!

Thanks, Reed. A little different approach to fall color.

I have been told you missed the Maine colors by just about a week 😳. Ellen did also.

From reports it does seem so. It’s hard to predict. Plus Mary Beth’s birthday kind of decided our dates to be there. Fortunately there will be color here. It’s a shame she travelled so far and missed it. I am guessing she was there for other reasons and foliage would have been a bonus.

Did you also do any significantly different compositions with the dead tree?

No. There really isn’t another approach aside from this at a distance along the rail trail. Any other angle I found less pleasing and not in harmony with all that was in the background. I imagine someone else with a different vision might do something else but this was what appealed to me.

I like the spare “dead” tree in the midst of all that color. Very nice photo, Steve.

Thanks, Tina. I am sure I will photograph some images that are all about the color but I really liked the tree. Hopefully it will endure for a while longer.

Thanks, Liz. There are rumors of scant color this season but it looks like those may be off a bit. It is getting more colorful every day.

I agree: That old tree skeleton really grabs the attention. Like Steve S, I’d like to see more of it.

I’ll see what I can do. It’s a short distance from home.

This one is a nicely balanced composition, with dead trees, live trees, and that great touch of color. I’m seeing just a hint of color down here, but mostly just falling brown leaves. 🙂

Thanks, Todd. Our color is not quite as spectacular as in some years but it is building.
