Gary hasn’t posted in a while so I’ll pick it up with a spider for the day. Hope we hear from him soon as well.
In the same meadow, MacLeod Field, where I found the Viceroy I also saw a few orb webs and their creators. This one is especially lovely with some vivid colorful abdomen markings. Who describes a spider as lovely?
Lined Orbweaver-Mangora gibberosa in a galaxy of dewdrops. Ordinarily there would be a thicker circular mass of webbing surrounding the spider but that was absent here. Maybe it just hadn’t got around to it before the dew settled.
Do drop in, said the spider to the fly

Also the name of a bar (with dew rather than do) I dropped in one day.

Good title! (Even if borrowed). And I like your Spidurday too. Now you’ve got me wondering about Sundays… 🙂

I’d forgot Spidurday. 🙂 Guess I have two days to remedy that. Maybe spunday with just a web. 🙂

You did an excellent job keeping the spider in focus.

Despite everything else it was my main focus. Thanks.

Dew-dropped spider webs always are appealing.

I made images of just webs but it seemed better with an occupant.

Thanks, Lori. I only noticed today the spider web you have for your banner. Has it been there long and I just didn’t see?

It’s been there for several years. I really need to change the photos out on my banner. I have 8 or so that change each time the blog is accessed. I have been terrible about blog maintenance. I never have time to edit photos either. I should take some new spider photos since late summer and autumn is when we see some very spectacular spiders and webs!

Spiders don’t always appeal to me but their webs are usually beautiful, like this one.

What is amazing about orbweaver webs is that the spiders most often eat them in the morning and make new ones at night. Very ambitious little creatures.

I completely agree with your description of lovely. And in this case I love the dew filled web, as well, really adds something nice to the moment.

Thanks, Todd. I recognize that there are some spiders that are just plain creepy…I may post one or two soon…but some have attractive patterns. A dewy web always adds something special. Thanks, Todd!
