0-6.12.2021 Saturday Night Soaker

It was raining when I left the house this morning but radar showed it letting up to the north and, sure enough, when I arrived at the pond it had stopped.  But the evidence remained.

It looks like a studio photo, with the flower placed atop a mirror. That’s one of the advantages you have with N. odorata. Because it floats on the water, I suspect it’s easier to get that kind of reflection. I wonder if your pond is more protected, too. The waters where I find these lilies are fairly open, so wind ripples often disturb the reflection.

    • The pond is surrounded by trees. This is in the smaller part across the road from the larger expanse of water and most often is calm. But it was a quiet morning after a prolonged shower and the air was a little heavy which helped. And because of the surrounds the water is often dark as seen in some of my other water-lily shots. Actually, in shooting this I didn’t anticipate this outcome in the LCD. It was very dark and a lot of the details didn’t show. I was pleasantly surprised.
