06.12.2021 Miss Pinky in Space

I posted this flower the other day entwined.  But floating in space is fun too.

Grass Pink-Calopogon tuberosus

As for the title…..

  1. I’ll say floating in space is preferable.

Lovely floral composition, Steve! I love the way it floats in space.

    • Thanks, Peter. I used to take part in a photography forum where this was considered the optimal way to present almost any subject. I don’t necessarily subscribe to that preference but it does make for a nice portrait.

  3. Very nice image and great title. Thanks for the morning chuckle “…. Or the door.” Miss Piggy was a classic.

Yes, floating in space would be grand. Oh, to go into stealth mode and just float in space….

  6. This is a stunning photograph, Stephen. I love the separation of the flower and buds from the background.

I especially like the presence of the buds with the flower. The texture of the flower in your photos seems ‘rougher’ than in mine. Is there a bit of dew? Perhaps it’s only that they’re in different stages of their cycles. In any event, they’re gorgeous.

    • Yes, it was a dewy morning. Ths meadow is very wet and there is a lot of moisture in the air generally and often a ground fog hangs over the land. I like the color tie in to the background provided by the buds and, of course, their promise of more to come.

Floating in space is fantastic. It really helps that color stand out. And I agree with shoreacres, having the buds there is nice, it adds something to the composition.
