06.09.2021 And on the last day…..

I was on vacation last week…mostly one of those honey dos…but did get out most every morning. All but this one day Sunday started with an overcast or mostly cloudy sky so here is the only sunrise I managed to capture. Not the most spectacular but at least the week ended with a colorful morning sky. And it was followed by more specialness at the pond.

And of no real significance, this is post number 1900. Who knows, if I stay healthy and keep at it, I might have a post number the same as the year with around 200 possible posting days yet to come.  🙂

Love the abrupt mood change from ‘subdued’ below to warm and vibrant brightness above! and the depth is amazing, like a 3D picture!

  2. That is a real beauty and a lift to the heart, Steve! The mist in the foreground all add for a magical vista. I hope you get to post a lot more than that 🙂

  3. Getting to a post number that matches the year seems like an easy shot for you, especially if on some days you post twice, as you’ve done on plenty of days this year. And as we’ve discussed on other occasions, ground fog often does a good job of enhancing a landscape photograph.

I like the sunrise photo very much with the fog patch in the foreground, the silhouetted trees and the red sky. It was sure worth it getting out of bed so early on a Sunday morning, Steve.

Nice that you got at least one good sunrise for the week. It’s pretty early these days… solstice is right around the corner. (I always have mixed feeing about that day.)

    • Thanks, Eliza. The mornings were a little frustrating but as with all of nature, there is always something if we look closely enough. It was a good week and I did get most of the chores done that made it a honey do week. 🙂
Well, the daylight does start to get shorter but I am happy that sunrise starts to go back in the other direction. Age does seem to make the early wake up times a little more difficult.

I could use a morning as serene and peaceful as that one. After the traditional first week of working in the heat exhausted me, my credit card was hacked for the second time in six weeks, and now there’s a nationwide shortage of the varnish that I use. I’ve got enough to keep me going through two jobs, but at that point I either quit working or use an inferior product. I feel sorry for the people who can’t get their fancy drinks at Starbucks because of the peach juice shortage, but not very.

Anyway. I’m trying to get myself back in the groove, get caught up, and maybe even post a little something myself. A lot of people think the pandemic’s over, but there were a lot of bad decisions made that are going to have lingering bad effects. (Grump, grump) It’s a darned good thing the sun still is rising!

    • That’s a lot of bad news, Linda. I would guess that you won’t be using an inferior varnish. Especially on something that has to withstand a salty environment. If that comes to pass I would guess you will have a few salty comments regarding the situation. I haven’t experienced any lacquer shortages but there are a lot of quality suppliers, at least so far.

Yep. Apparently certain freedoms are more important than common sense…at least to some people. Suffice it to say a lot of folks do not have my respect. I have never had a great opinion of the human race in general and the past year+ hasn’t convinced me of my errant outlook.
