Once again I had to stop on my way home from running a few errands Sunday morning. I had been out photographing prior but came up relatively empty. I made a few images but at first review none may see the light of day, or backlight of a computer screen. After the shopping stops as I drove home on Moody Bridge Road this scene with some popular oaks which have been here before and the spring color in the background stopped me.
This was taken with the SX-60. Not sure why not the 5D Mark IV but there’s no explaining me sometimes. Reviewing in Lightroom at first the sky seemed pretty washed out but processing brought back some of the blue which I think makes this more effective.
There is one more sunrise shot from Saturday but that is waiting in the wings so there are not too many in a row. It was a good morning.
Love this scene .. it seems so ideal that it could appear to have been painted or drawn!

It was a lovely surprise as I did not expect to see this at all as I drove by. Fortunately there was no one behind me. 🙂 Thanks, Liz!

Thanks, Linda! This group of oak trees is very photogenic, I think. Having the spring colors as a backdrop was a nice bonus.

It is the extra effort at home that often makes the difference between a first-class photo and a mediocre one.

Thanks, Peter. It did take some extra effort as the original file was rather soft so I had to do a bit of detail recovery. It worked out though so well worth the effort.

Love that spring blush of color! I’ve been thinking of that walnut plantation near the refuge. Must be greening up nicely.

The blue of the sky is an excellent balance for the lovely spring colours. The sort of spring scene that brings joy after winter!

Thanks, Ann. I was so pleased that I was able to bring that blue out from the white sky. Yes, we are quite happy to have winter and 2020 behind us. 🙂

Who would guess this is a spring image with that color? Well, the trees do give it away with their small leaves but I am always overjoyed to see that foliage.
