Another oft visited location just a few minutes from the house. The foreground is farmed for hay but was recently protected by the local Kestrel Trust and then transferred to the Silvio Conte National Wildlife Refuge. A few years back this site was slated for a solar farm but was protected through local efforts and is now in perpetuity.
This view is just a bit north of the scene I posted on the 7th of April and around the corner from that of the 8th. It’s nice to have these places nearby.
Gorgeous!

It’s quite an image. I can feel the flow of the fog following the ridgeline.

I made several exposures as you’d expect. I almost did not choose this one because of what you see as a ridgeline which is actually a low cloud. It is a bit deceptive. Maybe I should say it is a ridge. The clouds were the most textured in this frame which is why it got posted. Shortly after this they hit the horizon and the light disappeared until after noon.

I love how luminous it is. It would be beautiful on metal .. that’s possible isn’t it?

Thanks, Liz! Yes, images can be printed on metal although I have not had one done to date.

It was, indeed. It went from potentially disappointing to thrilling.

Stunning! The details in the clouds and silhouetted trees give us the ‘extra special’ to hold are attention and linger.

Thanks, Denise! What was happening in the clouds as they drifted across the sky was quite a treat and I was happy to get some detail to express that. Glad you enjoyed this one.
