Surprisingly it was tranquil, Eliza. This is on South Maple between the malls and Bay Road which can often be quite busy even in the morning but on this day nice and quiet.

It takes a bold, strong tree to stand up to those colors. Even the ones on the horizon managed it; their presence is a nice complement to the big tree.

I am always on the lookout for a lone tree. I think this qualifies even with those in the background. In summer it is in a cornfield. I thought keeping the silhouette totally shadowed made the best combination with that sky. Thanks!

I wonder how many striking sunrises and sunsets that mighty oak has taken in? Oaks are a timeless beauty.

No doubt hundreds at least. 🙂 Mostly sunrises as there is a wall of trees behind us here. The sunset I shared which included this tree on 3/26 shows a few of those trees and a nice sunset in the northern sky.

Thanks, Denise! I am envious of those wide open spaces out there where one can easily find lone trees or isolated groupings. OTOH, I am happy to live where forests rule. 🙂
