    I think Audubon himself would enjoy this one, Steve. Beyond the handsomeness of the bird, I like the way you’ve included the grasses. It’s a very pleasant image.

    • I have to admit it was a lucky shot. The sun was shining from my right and directly onto my viewing screen and into my peripheral vision so I was flying blind, so to speak. I often carry a piece of black cloth for such times to throw over my head and the camera but that isn’t always useful when shooting wildlife while the subject is moving. I’ll take luck when I can.     I love catching catchlights. They can really help add something, an extra sense of life, to a photo, connecting you to the eyes. Nice.
