It amazes me to see frozen bubbles – how cold it must have been! Makes a wonderful image. 🙂

It certainly was cold. The bubbles are caused by a few things. In this case we are seeing frozen foam which is often caused by tannic acid that has leached into the water from leaves. At other times the bubbles are gas, often methane, escaping from the rotting materials in the depths of the water.

They are spectacular! I don’t think it would get cold enough to see anything like that here. (Could be tempting fate with that comment!)

A bubbly picture, and good avian find where there was none.

It does look like a bird in a bubble bath, unlikely as the concept is (duck in a bubble bath, possibly) 😉

We keep a bird bath out in the yard and they do create bubbles when tossing the water around. 🙂

Do you mean in the text? How reduced? But yes, sometimes enlarging does soften the detail a bit.

I didn’t see its legs until my second or third look. I’m not sure I would have seen a bird without prompting, but I might have. I sure see it now!

Ding ding ding! Steve sees something in an image that missed Linda. That doesn’t happen very often. Matter of fact this is the first time I believe. Although I like Frogend’s penguin, my first vision was of a long-tailed bird although I couldn’t tell you which one.
