12.28.2020-2 An unexpected Sunrise

The goal this morning was to shoot some icicles but I am easily distracted by bright lights.

The forecast called for overcast and for the most part that was the case.  But there was a little gap that allowed some color for a few minutes. Unfortunately the low lying cloud didn’t catch any of that light so it does take a little away.  But seeing the show was nice so I thought I’d share it.

Nice – I love when the forecast is gray and a bit of light sneaks in anyway.

It’s quite the challenge to catch colour … well caught! 😀

The white streak of low cloud’s quite unusual – I don’t remember seeing anything quite like that. It would have stopped me, too.

From your title, I was concerned that the sunrise itself might have been unexpected, but am happy to see that its display was what you had in mind. Thanks again for sharing.

    • Actually it was the sunrise as when I left the house it was thick overcast and there was no sign of anything like this happening but as I drove I noticed a hint of a tint and a glint at the horizon and the clouds opened just a tiny bit and that was all it took.

  5. You seem to have been born with a sunrise gene, so adept are you at finding good ones.

    • I’ve always been an early riser since having a paper route as a child. Even while in college I was always up before everyone else. Of course, sometimes that was because I never went to sleep.
There are a lot of nothing happenings but if not out there then nothing will happen…for the photographer.

Beautiful, and I particularly like that white wisp of cloud going across.
