11.01.2020 Blue Moon of Massachusetts Keep on Shining

Before the frosty heron incident, there was this setting full moon, the second of the month so “Blue”.

I wanted to catch it low when it would be reflecting the warmth of the rising sun but only had a few moments before it sank into the fog bank that would soon envelop the valley and block the view of the Holyoke Range I had visualized for a later shoot over Hop Brook.

Oh, that deep blue feels so wintery – and mysterious. I love the contrast with the warm colour of the moon.

I can’t believe I missed the Blue Moon, but I sure did. Your capture is gorgeous, although it’s hard to comprehend it’s that cold up there already.

    • Thanks, Linda. If you think it’s hard for you…. πŸ™‚

Despite what people say, once in a blue moon is fairly often depending on one’s sense of time. The next one is in August although that will be a seasonal and not monthly.
