All I can say is, WOW! I love the delicate vertical lines of the tree trunks, limbs and branches. Spectacular image, Steve!

The burgundy-colored tree certainly is the star of this show. On the other hand, the variety of yellows and oranges — at least five shades that are obvious — are a nice complement to those burgundy leaves. I wonder if it’s a maple; I saw in a search for burgundy-leaved trees that there are maple species that “do that.” We see the same color here from time to time, generally on purple leaf plums.

    • That tree was what made me stop and make the shot, Linda. It was all alone among all that yellow and orange. It’s an oak, Red Oak-Quercus rubra I think, although I am not sure. I was standing across a muddy corn field so could have walked to it but for the mud and my clean shoes. Guess I lack a little dedication.

  5. Every year, it’s almost hard to believe how colorful and beautiful the trees become. I agree with Eliza, like a pointillist tapestry, lovely.
