Every once in a while I get a nice reward for running our errands. I almost always pass this location on the way home to see what might be happening and I liked the trees on the far end of the field being lit by the rising sun just peeking over the treetops to the east.

Funny — when you mentioned the sun rising in the east, the light coming from the left induced a little disorientation. I felt like the trees ‘ought’ to be lit from the right. It reminded me of moving to Liberia and having to adjust to the fact that the Atlantic Ocean was to the west. I never did get used to that.

    • Many of my sunrise shots, especially from the lookout in New Salem, are to the north so the light is coming from the right. But occasionally I do look to the south as here. The Atlantic to the west would seem odd.

Love the red highlights on the trees, and old mountains behind.
