10.06.2020 In a fog

That could describe me at most times but Sunday, after shooting the longed for image I shared yesterday, I drove by the boat cove in Quabbin Park and noticed the peninsula at the far side had some nice color with some low thin fog passing in front and heavy above.

I describe this as a peninsula, but believe it is actually a sand/rock bar created during the reservoir’s construction. I’ve never asked anyone so that is a best guess on my part.

The subdued, foggy colors give this a very appealing watercolor effect. Delightful.

Peninsula or sand bar, it makes for a nice composition with the beginnings of autumn color. I really enjoy foggy shots.

I dreamt of fog last night and turn on my computer to find this gorgeous image! I love how that peninsula looks like it is dreaming away in the mists. Half expect to hear bagpipes…

    • Winter is coming that is for sure and the forecast is for a harsh one. Since fall is offering up its color early, maybe that indicates a long winter as well. Fortunately the color is still approaching peak in some places so it’s not over yet.
