That could describe me at most times but Sunday, after shooting the longed for image I shared yesterday, I drove by the boat cove in Quabbin Park and noticed the peninsula at the far side had some nice color with some low thin fog passing in front and heavy above.
I describe this as a peninsula, but believe it is actually a sand/rock bar created during the reservoir’s construction. I’ve never asked anyone so that is a best guess on my part.
The subdued, foggy colors give this a very appealing watercolor effect. Delightful.

Thanks, Gary. I’ve made an almost identical composition at a similar date and it just doesn’t have the feeling that this does. Very colorful but no emotion.

Peninsula or sand bar, it makes for a nice composition with the beginnings of autumn color. I really enjoy foggy shots.

We’ve had fog each morning for the previous four which is the start of my vacation week. No fog today though. Fog is my happy place wherever I am.

Very nice Fog Image Steve! It is fun to photograph in foggy weather! Like the muted Fall colors!

Thanks, Reed. Fog does a great job of saturating the foliage.

I dreamt of fog last night and turn on my computer to find this gorgeous image! I love how that peninsula looks like it is dreaming away in the mists. Half expect to hear bagpipes…

Great coincidence. I rarely remember my dreams. I prefer quiet but I guess bagpipes would be cool.

Yes, silence is best but you have to admit…

Definitely. I am not sure if we are allowed to walk out there. In the past I have known people who did but the new park administration has changed a lot of the rules and, as well, it might be off limits since 9/11/2001.

I guess I can understand that, with it being a reservoir…things are a lot more relaxed here.

Winter is coming that is for sure and the forecast is for a harsh one. Since fall is offering up its color early, maybe that indicates a long winter as well. Fortunately the color is still approaching peak in some places so it’s not over yet.
