  1. This looks like what I saw along the shore of Lake Wakatipu in New Zealand, about which you commented: “Rocks can often offer lots of pleasing abstracts such as the ones you’ve shared. Acadia has a few nice shoreline areas with polished beach stones with nice color too.” Did you take this picture at Acadia?

    This calls to mind the old-fashioned rock candy I loved: sweets that replicated perfectly the appearance of stones. These have the sheen that rain or waves provide, and it’s lovely.

    • Yes, and that same rock candy would damage your teeth just like a mouthful of actual stones. Good observation. These were still wet from the tide which receded a short time before I made my images there. It’s an appealing effect that moisture plays upon colorful stones.
