So yeah, I do get up pretty early every day. But this past Friday morning, which I had off from work, saw Bentley decide he needed to go out at 1:30. I opted to stay awake and catch up on my email notifications of everyone’s blog posts and lasted until 5ish when I made it as far as the end of the driveway to catch this image then went back to recliner for a few hours.

You deserved a snooze in the recliner after that! 🙂

Nice Steve that you do not have to go far to shoot great images!!

Thanks, Reed. Nope. Not just this view but my yard has provided me with plenty of insects, a few rabbits, a bird or two, and lots of flowers…along with an occasional full or partial moon.

Sometimes I get so far behind that if I don’t find some special time the list just grows longer.

I like that~up in the middle of the night, stay up long enough to take note of a glorious sunrise, then back to sleep. So much better to live that way than by the dictates always of an alarm clock. Of course we dog owners have little need of an alarm clock.

I wish I could say that Bentley is the reason for my early hours, but most often I get up and he follows. This was an exception. I think I have used an alarm clock maybe three times in the last 15 years, just a wild guess, and all of those were when we visited Acadia and I couldn’t risk sleeping too late with the even earlier sunrise time there. Here is never a problem. 🙂

Thanks, Pete. I have a had a few nice looks from down there along with the occasional full moon rising over the beginning of our street.

I still miss those little walks with a dog! Maybe there just might now be a chance to share one with a daughter or two!

I bet you meant granddaughter? I hope that will happen soon. Our walks have been shorter lately because of my hobblement but that won’t be much longer. Both the hound and I need the exercise.

Actually, I did mean daughters. We’re looking into the possibility of doing some more foster-care dog work, now that I’ve bought a car, and with our extended stay here, a family dog that we can share might also finally be a viable option. I hope so!

I hope so too, Gary. I am sure you will keep us posted.

Glad you got to take a day off, but sorry your sleep wasn’t good. Most nights I am awake for segments of time, too. But at least I don’t have to take the dog out. 😉

I have a similar sleep pattern, Eliza. One reason is part of the package for living to an older age. 🙂 I sleep fine to start, but going back to sleep is a problem. I could go back to bed after taking care of Bentley so not doing so is on me. 🙂

It is, Minna. My favorite time of the day before people are out and the air starts to get heavy.
