The nose knows that you can’t be too careful out there.

Even before I read your text I saw a nose and thought of elephant seals and proboscis monkeys.

Noses just run in the family of animals, I guess.

They do, and according to a book I just read, the same genes and genetic switches work to form noses in us as in many other animals, even much less developed ones.

That’s good to know and not all that surprising. I was making a joke regarding mucus humor though.

And a good pun it was.

It’s amazing how hairy some flowers/plants are. That’s where I placed my focus.

I saw an odd-looking long-eared rabbit with a big honker! 🙂

Maybe it was a proboscis rabbit three or four generations removed from the monkeys. 🙂

Oh boy. I totally misread what you said, Lemony. 😳 I thought you meant you saw one in your yard. What a goof I can be. 🙂

It took a while and a consult with yon Wiki to figure it out: ‘corona’ isn’t part of this one’s scientific name, and the part you photographed isn’t the ‘corona.’ You were making a little joke with your title — I can be slow, sometimes!

That puts me in good company then, Linda. Check out my response above to Lemony. It went right over my head. I guess I “masked” my intention. 🙂

It would be so much fun to Photoshop this into other images to make a conglomerate face. It’s really a perfect nose just waiting to be conjoined with other potentially-facial features!

I’ve never had an urge to do composites. It is a good candidate.
