Why not…it’s fog Friday and this is one more foggy image shot just before the Viola pedata on Quabbin Hill. It’s sort of iconic in that many people, myself included, have made similar images here before and will do so again. I’ve several different views of those distant trees throughout the year but fog I think is my favorite condition.
I made an almost identical image previously as a black and white but like this light and color as is. Probably my favorite shot of these trees is here.
Love the fog image Steve! I do not do much photography in the fog. But I will have too in the future! I remember one time when on a visit to Blackwater NWR it was quite foggy when we got there. So we got some interesting images before the sun burned it off.

Fog can add so much to a scene. I get pretty excited at night when I check the NOAA site and see fog predicted. Even more excited when the forecast is correct. Thanks, Reed.

The winter take you linked to is sooooo different.

That’s what I strive for. Same trees but different. I’ve made a handful of photographs of the two trees that have something different to offer. I doubt that I am done with them. This is more a typical view that most people shoot along with the same angle but closer.

If those trees knew how popular they are they’d get a complex! 🙂 The winter image is incredible but I really love’em in the fog.

They are sort of iconic with Quabbin photographers.I’d love to photograph them before or after sunrise/sunset but the park has shorter hours these days. Thanks, Melissa.

I like the framing of the trees on the side seeming to reach for the central pair.

Thanks, Eliza. WIsh I could say it’s an original composition but not only have I done one similar but probably dozens or even hundreds of people have likely done the same. I think this one might be singular.

Feels as if I could just walk through the mist to those trees, all enveloped by silence… 🙂

For a spot that gets a lot of visitor traffic, only one car came by while I was doing this so it was silent. Even the birds were still abed. 🙂

Moody and mysterious. So wonderfully done, Steve.

At first glance, I thought you’d written “frog friday,” and I wasn’t disappointed at all when I realized that I’d been mistaken. Foggy conditions are special, as are the abilities of photographers to make the best of them. Beautiful stuff, Steve.

Ideally, and maybe I did once already, I’ll post a Foggy Frog Friday mage. You are not the only one who thought that and I honestly thought it myself as I was typing and came close to typoing it. Thanks, Gary.
