Hitting the archives on a quiet Sunday morning.
About Steve Gingold
I am a Nature Photographer with interests in all things related. Water, flowers, insects and fungi are my main interests but I am happy to photograph wildlife and landscapes and all other of Nature's subjects.
I would like to follow that path and see where it leads.

It’s actually a short one, but it does lead to an excellent view of the mountain range.

I can just feel the dew on the grasses as I walk the path, and hear the birds singing. Wonderful.

The dew was heavy having been influenced by the fog although it was lifting where I was standing. It’s always a peaceful spot in the early morning.

Your title suddenly reminded me of the Pathmark supermarket chain that was big in New York and a few other northeastern states half a century ago. It became the largest and then the only supermarket in my home town on Long Island. Now the chain is down to a single store in Brooklyn.

That was about the farthest thing from my mind.

Before I read the comments I was immediately struck with a tactile sense in this particular picture. I see Iām not the only one. It just feels good.

It’s a shame that these moments are so fleeting but they would be less special otherwise. Glad you could feel the experience.

A scene well worth revisiting. Looks like a beautifully calming walk.

It always is although it’s not a very long one, Todd. From down below I’ve made some nice compositions of the Holyoke Mountain Range, often with the setting full moon.

I love a foggy, misty day. I’m reminded that, when I was in Ireland, their Irish term for it translates as a “soft” day.

Soft light is my favorite when I can get it. There are rumors of fog for Tuesday morning. š

I was wondering where you found grass so tall! Ha!

Thanks, Ann. The spot almost always provides solitude.

That it is, Angela. It’s not a long one, but makes a nice circle below and often gives a nice view of the mountain range to the south. Thank you.

Nice. Is fog common there?

Yes and no. If there is fog in the valley then it often can be seen here, but more times than not…not.

What a beautiful spot. I especially like the sense of openness. It’s a comfortable landscape.

This makes me go, ooooo. What light!!! Those colors, just a little otherworldly. I love the glow.

This was so different from a few moments earlier below this spot which you’ve seen before. Amazing how things can be so different in just a few moments. Two keepers in one morning. š

That IS amazing. It’s great that you have places for close-ups of plants (and animals!) and equally good places for distant views nearby.

Yes, it is nice although you’ve got that and so much more. š

Maybe it seems like more because it’s different…although being around shorelines does add another element. Sometimes I wonder what it will be like when I begin to get used to this landscape. I’ll have to work harder, which is a good thing, actually.

Although it is beautiful here and offers a lot to discover and enjoy, it is a bit harder to find compositions in the forest. At least an old forest such as most here which are not managed for aesthetics. And then there is that grass being greener elsewhere thing. š

Yeah, there’s that thing. š
