Another from last Sunday, I was attracted to the way the two sides almost match like puzzle pieces as well as the way the water seems to have shaped the right side during times of high flow.
There are many places along the edges of the brook that appear to have been eroded over time making the fracturing more obvious.

It does look like an opened puzzle. I also like the gradient of moss close to the running water turning more and more into open rocks further way from the creek.

Thanks, Otto. I wanted to be sure the moss was not outdone by the water so tried to balance the two as equally important elements. I guess that the water doesn’t rise high enough to provide moisture to the moss if it tried to further colonize the rocks.

When I concentrate on the beautiful mossy-green rocks on the right, my imagination converts the orangish one at mid left into a large frog watching all the watery action.

The rocks here and what you chose to frame make a nice clean detail shot. I know how hard it is to find just the right composition. Here the banks are super steep and in many places there would be nowhere to stand if you did get down to the bottom. And too often there’s tree debris cluttering up the scene. So nice job finding and capturing!

Thanks, Denise. It is a bit tricky here as well. My post of the 17th sort of speaks to that. 🙂 One of my favorite locations lost two large hemlocks that fell right across the base of the waterfall. It will be a long time before the tree becomes less of an impediment although it can be used as something of interest.
