that I’d be posting a Painted Trillium.  And there will be more.  This is only day one. 🙂

I looked at these on Sunday on the way out after my bath and there was just a hint of white at the top of the buds.  Two days later, floral perfection. There were many to choose from although they are sparsely distributed amongst the pines. One here and one there. I reflected some light onto the flower and then reduced the illumination elsewhere in post.

  1. That’s a real stunner. 🙂 It may be running a bit late, but it’s a beautiful spring this year.

Exquisite! I’m really enjoying following your spring’s progress. It’s getting progressively chillier here; it was 55 this morning.

    • I am assuming 55 is Fahrenheit or else you’d be roasted there. We are still dropping into the 40’s at night but the days are warming quickly and comfortably. Spring has speeded up lately. Thanks.

I do love a white flower, but I’d never turn my nose up at these. That bit of color is just right; nature certainly can produce some spectacular results. I’m glad they’ve finally arrived for you!

I don’t remember seeing a Trillium with the two colours like this, interesting thanks Steve!

    • The first time I came across one of these it stopped me in my tracks, Liz. I’d only seen the red ones prior and this was so exciting. Even though I’ve made many images I still get excited by their return each year. For quite a while my Gravatar was of me sitting with one of these. 🙂
