04/15/2020 Buffam Falls w/video

The water really was flowing impressively yesterday, probably still is today, and was very loud as well.  At other times I have been able to wade out a bit further to compose the cascading falls a bit better but I wasn’t feeling like getting swept away.  🙂

The video will give you a better feel for the strength of the flow.

That’s a larger stream than I’d thought; I’d say you did well to take more care with the increased flow. The cascades are so complex, I can easily see how you can spend so much time there and secure such a variety of interesting studies.

    • Some days it’s larger than others. There is a lot of variety although I do shoot a couple of the cascades repeatedly. But between changing flows and different positions the compositions do vary. I do say that about a few places. It’s my story and I am sticking with that. I’ve never really regained my balance or my strength since I lost them so have to be extra careful.

It doesn’t take many inches of flow to knock someone off their feet. Obviously you know that, but initially I did see that branch on the right side as a fishing pole. What happened to the fisherman could be a different kind of fish tale.

  3. Opportunities for countless compositions in one location. Very nice image. Love the sound of fast flow in the video. Great way to start the day. Thanks.

  4. The waterfall in the video looks so different from the way it looks in your photograph.

  5. Once again, beautiful. Yes, there are many opportunities for different compositions. For instance, I see the lower left cropped tight as an abstract. But, you know me…

If we get snow, these falls will be even more photogenic!

A certain someone heard the video and without looking at anything but his own computer screen, said. “I feel wet!” 🙂
